QB is an unanswered question with the Dogs, Jatis at best is in the middle of the conference behind LC- Yancey, Merr-Raspopovich, and Chesterton and Solis has transferred. Will see how he does against Pike in the scrimmage in July, Jatis is also coming off an arm injury from baseball, not sure if it is throwing arm according to Lake County Star.

I don't know about the other teams, but our Trojans boys will have more experience and are excited for a new season. We started off good, but lost some games later last year.

I agree Chesterton is a real darkhorse, if not for a few injuries the Trojans could have made a similiar run to CP. They have a strong line and will be a factor in my view, just don't have the speedster RB/QB that LC, CP, and Merrillville have in there backfields.

apollo: how could you say that about Jatis? He had his ups and downs, but he got better and we won a sectional with him. Now he its a year better. He may not be as good as the Merrillville QB, but he is better than Yancy, not as a player, but ad a QB. I thought I saw you say that he was paying RB this year anyway. Even with QB conversation side, football is still a team sport and the Bulldogs have the best team. Its not one player that gets the wins for the team.

I am not saying that he is not the best choice at CP or that I am not picking CP to do well as a team, I am and he is the best choice for CP obviously now, he is a Tall QB with lots of potential and athleticism, that has been seen on the baseball field too. However by looking at his passing completion vs Penn and that is what any reasonable person would look at actual game performance- he is still a work in progress and not proven like past QB's yet from CP like Hopman, Mascarello etc., I agree he is behind Merrillville's QB and I see still LC and Chesterton stronger at this position based on pure stats, Valpo is still unknown after the Andrie era and Portage ran the huck and chuck wildcat passes to track kids with Coleman at QB due to injuries, which ended up in a 42-0 loss vs CP amongst others.

I think that Portage will be fine at QB. There are a lot of younger kids coming through the ranks that will be good. Expect one of them to get the start behind a much better offensive line.
