This is big news..I'm wondering why he would just leave like that..if it was for another job I could understand, but this has me scratching my head
I think the coach who is really breathing a sigh of relief is Mason at Andrean..they might actually win the sectional now lol

And I thought that maybe he was tired of winning.

crowntown, that's funny, but I doubt any coach ever gets tired of winning. Congrats to him on the new position.

At least we won't here any more whining about the GSSC not being competitive football and this year Whiting and RF could be more competitive anyways, hey by the way didn't Edison beat Wheeler in Softball. And didn't Wheeler beat Andrean last year anyways, the media doesn't like the GSSC because they don't get the self promotion tag they seek for themselves in Morocco, Union Mills, and at Marquette.

Thanks Admin I think all media coverage is great. But no media organization or person should be caught up in that there own articles or who came first the chicken or egg questions or organization It is NOT a bigger deal than the student-athletes they should be promoting or covering, not cheerleading for themselves or any particular team because it sells advertising or feeds there self-inflated egos.

Apollo, do you think that Wheeler will drop that far because of the coaching change our because of graduation losses?

It's being reported that the wife of the former South Central athletic director was allegedly stealing money from the concession stand to fuel her alcohol and gambling addiction.

Just because the conference might be more competitive with Wheeler "slipping" doesn't make it better..At least with Wheeler there was always the intrigue on whether they could compete with other top tier 2A schools in their sectional..they gave a reason to even talk about the GSSC in football..the conference will be totally irrelevant if Wheeler really does tumble..none of those other schools can compete with Andrean or Rensselaer in sectional 25
River Forest might have their best team since the turn of the century but they still have nothing on the Wheeler teams of the past 5 years..Wheeler still beat them by 3 TD's without a quarterback last year..how bad would it have been had there not been the injury to Naspinski?

JT Who led at the half RF or Wheeler?

RF had 8 points...how many did they score the rest of the game?
29-8..not like it was a shootout that came down to the last possession
You have to be able to put up some points on that defense..
Wheeler allowed 41 points all season..and I believe all of the points given up besides the 8 to RF were late in the 2nd half when the games were well in hand..so their first team defense basically gave up a touchdown the entire regular season..I have no idea what they will have for a quarterback next year..but I know every year Klimczak was there they always had solid QB play..I'm sure RF will have a winning season and might beat every other GSSC team out there..but I wouldn't crown them champs just yet

Are we really talking about this conference? The teams here are really bad. Only Wheeler, River Forest and Whiting had good records last year. I know some of the River Forest players because they are friends with some of the Portage boys. I hope they do good this season. Wheeler will still be the best though.
