Ok admin75 thank you for the history lesson, but I still don't think any athletic director really wants to coach anymore unless he still is coaching.

He will coach. Coaches are coaches. Back to the sidelines.

As predicted, the job goes to someone on staff, Dan's brother Tony.

Tony also played at South Central for Bob Holmes and coached with Zac Wells at Merrillville.

I think this is a good hire..makes things easier on the players and coaches who are still on staff..no major changes and business as usual

It makes no difference. Wheeler is still only the fourth best team in the county. If they played real teams they would lose every game.

Wheeler could have played with Portage last year at the end of the year, they were lucky to beat Michigan City.

I agree with this..especially with Portage being one dimensional on offense..they aren't stopping Kittridge or shutting down the Cheese but Portage I could see them beating

Why does you all hate Portage? The Indians would have waxed the butts of those Wheeler farm boys. The Indians are better than Wheeler. They beat Andrean because they were lucky, not because of them playing good. Wheeler is the fourth best team like I said. The only team that is worse is Boone Grove.

indianbacker. I don;t think that anyone hates Portage. Fans can be fans and be realistic though.
