As track and field (or athletics as the Brits call it) has gotten under way, the US has won a couple of medals: Reese Hoffa ended up with a bronze in men's shot put, Will Claye a bronze in men's long jump, Carmelita Jeter a silver in the women's 100 m, and Justin Gatlin a bronze in the men's 100m. A lot of events still to come, but what do you think of the US showing so far?

It also looks like Sanya Richards-Ross won the gold in the women's 400 and DeeDee Trotter got the bronze, but not sure if that is official yet.

Galen Rupp won the silver in the 10k. First American to medal at that distance since 1964. I wonder if they will make a movie about him like they did about Billy Mills.
