The Olympics are creeping closer. Track will again be front and center. What are your favorite events to watch?

I like them all. Really the relays and sprints, as well as high jump and poll vault are my favorite of the track and field events.

I watch swimming and basketball more, but if I watch track it is normally the throwing events. I like the javaelin the best, but if I have a choice I focus on swimming and basketball.

The best part is the long races and the relays.

I remember when I was a kid always playing Summer Olympics on the Commodore 64. The track events, especially the high jump was fun. Diving too. Of course, that has nothing to do with real life, but it still is something that brings up great memories. Watching the Olympics is always something that I look forward to and track is one of events that I watch closely. It is fun because it's not something I watch all of the time. I honestly don't watch much of basketball, softball when it was an Olympic sport, baseball, etc...you know the ones I can watch anytime I want. I really like to focus on track, gymnastics (believe it or not), swimming and diving, etc. But track really takes center stage every four years. I wonder why it is not more popular as a spectator sport in between.

David Neville III from Merrillville took the bronze medal in the 400 meter dash in Beijing in 2008 but fell short of making the 2012 team in the Olympic trials.
