Probably indianbacker, but not always. Most fans agree that, for example Andrean Wheeler should have been a championship game, not easier. It probably would have resulted I more revenue for the IHSAA if it had been.

I doubt the Wheeler/North Newton sectional championship had much interest outside of the crowd attending from those particular schools, mainly because an average North Newton team was playing a team that had whipped them pretty good during the regular season..there wasn't much intrigue with that game..if it had been Andrean/Wheeler the interest would have been huge and casual fans from all around the area would have attended
Sure, the champion is the champion no matter what..but there is certainly more interest when the two best teams are playing each other in the championship game rather than the first round

I don't think that anyone outside of Andrean or Wheeler would have cared. Fans only care about their team. If their team is out, why would they want to go to another game. The season is over when your team is not in the playoffs anymore.
If you go to another game, you are not a real fan.

I don't see much of a reason to keep the system like it is now. The games later are pretty bad for what they call a championship. Seed the thing. Maybe it is just people being lazy. I think they might think they will lose money from that show that they have. I am sure they make money from that.
