Felix Hernandez threw a perfect game for the Mariners tonight. It was the third of the season after Philip Humber and Matt Cain both threw them earlier this season. Humber was a flash in the pan, but Cain and Hernandez are consistently pretty good.
So let's get this straight though: 23 all time, and now three this season. Is it really that impressive? To a degree, yeah. On the other hand does that just mean that major league hitting is just on a down turn? That maybe the league is far too watered down at this point. I don't know if THAT is true either, but you have to wonder what is going on that three guys, onbe of whom isn't even very good, can throw a perfect game. Discuss.

Yeah, baseball is starting to suck. It's not these pitchers better it is that from 1 to 9 lineups are weak.

I tend to think that all of pro sports is a bit watered down. I love MLB, NFL, and NHL...could care less about the NBA, but the talent is much more spread out. You could have bad teams in the past with great players on them. Now, there are many MLB teams that have .200 hitters in the lineup that would have never got to the Major League level in the past. A perfect game is impressive, but not as impressive as it has been in the past.
