I picked up my copy of the 2012 Indiana Football Digest this week. Great editorial by Condry on the very last page entitled, "Are You Really In It For The Kids?". I especially liked the part where he wrote about how some student athletes are having to endure three or sometimes four coaching regimes in their four year cycle of high school and if a kid can survive that type of dynamic they will be more than ready for the real working world when the time comes. All you guys need to read that article first thing if you get the book.

Yeah, Paul does a great job with those types of articles. He is right, the changes can hurt programs and hurt kids if they don't have some consistency. The problem is the demands that are on coaches now that never were in the past. 30 years ago there was no real summer participation, you really saw your team in season and a bit before and could have a real off season. Other than 1 week in July, there is no offseason and coaches do get burnt out. I don;t know the answer, but I would love to see less turnover.
