What deals do you think will be made at the deadline?

White Sox need pitching desperately. Hard to play down the stretch with that many rookies on the staff. examples were 2 games in Boston this week, though Ventura should have kept Quintana in for the 9th last night and 2-3 other times this season.

The Cubs on the other hand will be sellers. Obviously, they have played well since the all star break, but to say that they are making a run to the post-season is unlikely. I would think that anyone BUT Castro is on the table at this point with the most value coming from Dempster or Garza most likely. I would imagine Rizzo would stay put since Jed and the gang love him so much.

I think Dempster will be fine and the Cubs will get some kids and money for him.

Well Dempster is gone now. Wait until 2018 Cubs fans?

while the White Sox play has not been encouraging recently, then did get Crain and Floyd back and just traded for Myers. I'd like to see Beckham get launched though or just use him as a defensive replacement. He just can't hit.

Julio, no Dempster used his privilege to not be traded, basically he voided it. I like him and am glad he is still a Cub, but I think he may have done the team a disservice in future bargaining.

The beloved Ron Santo used this before he ok'd a trade to the White Sox so don't hold it against Dempster, Derek Lee also invoked it in a trade to the Angels before he ok'd a trade to Atlanta with fans pressure. The fans have to realize the owners agreed to the collective bargaining agreement, so don't hold it against Dempster.

I defiantly don't hold it against him. I would have done what he did. I am just saying that it may put a bad taste in Atlanta's mouth in the future. I am glad Dempster is still a Cub, at least for now.
