I have seen people on other message boards singing the praises of the fake Indians. They are a flash in the pan, a ruse, a farce! They should not be in the same conference as the REAL red Indians of Portage, Indiana! They will not be too good. They won because no one knew what to expect. Our boys are coming for you fake Indians. Change your name.

Wow indeed. it is one thing to be a fan and another to be this committed to an idea so strongly. Julio is right though. There IS nothing fake about Lake Central. They are really good. I hope for a great game when they play each other, but I don't see it as being much of a contest.

I know you don't want to hear this, go to any messageboard you like and they agree. The power of the DAC will be at CP and LC in almost every major sport within 5 years, watch the lower levels and you will see it in every sport. Merrillville is losing enrollment,Valpo is losing kids to there sports programs that now stay at Boone and Wheeler, Chesterton is pretty stagnant, and LaPorte/Mich Ciy are not real powers in anything anymore, Portage is really not a factor in team sports at the lower levels anymore.

You people are crazt koo koo for co co puffs. Lake Central has 1 good season in football and now everybody thinks they are the best thing since beer koozies. They are not. A school being bigger doesn't make them good. Heart. Love. Determination. Work. That makes them good and those baby spoiled rich kids don't have it. Only a tough, blue collar team can make that happy from union-strong areas. LaPorte and Michigan City are not the best, but the others are good. apollo, you are talking crazy. Portage is not at the lower levels, they are at the upper levels. You don't even know.

Well, I think your explanation is a little bit over the top indianbacker, but you have a point. Of course so does apollo. Just because a school is larger does not mean it is better. For example, in football Wheeler beat KV. Boone Grove got their only win last season against a larger Roosevelt squad. Andrean ran the table in the regular season, beating 2 5A teams and 6 4A teams, Munster lost games to much smaller Andrean and Griffith last season and that was just football.
Like Bob Potosky always says, size isn't everything, but it helps. LC is getting better and had a great season in football, basketball, baseball, softball, etc. Crown Point was good in football and baseball last season, decent in boys basketball, and better on the girls side.
They could very well be dominant in the future.

How many games have you seen of the JH levels of Portage, I have and that is what I speak of when your best two Freshman athletes coming up are in X-C/Track. When Portage let go of Buzea- the program 7-12 has been in disarray, look at the numbers in the Senior Class, granted as I have said they have some good underclassmen but they are no where near the talent that LC, Valpo, and CP have. It will take the new Football coach some time and basketball is light years away.
