Funny how it happens right after Brees signs his contract..certainly something that isn't calculated I'm sure..but it's good that the bears did sign him..he will still be a valuable part of this team

Just remember Neal Anderson, RB's have a short life in the NFL

You are exactly right..I think the all-time rushing record is VERY safe..I don't think a RB in this league could last long enough to get it or get enough carries to come close to it..with the NFL being such a pass heavy league now, I think some of these insane passing records will probably be broken, like passing yards, TD's, and maybe even Brett's Ironman record with all of these stupid rules to "protect" the quarterback
But obviously with Forte, he is more than just a RB..he has been so valuable catching passes out of the backfield..he is almost a glorified receiver who carries the ball sometimes..having Brandon Marshall will be nice, but Forte is Cutler's safety valve that will probably be utilized alot when that awful O-line collapses and Cutler is falling like a tree in the pocket

The shift in the NFL has made running backs less valuable than they were 10 years ago. The days of the feature back and the long term starter at RB are gone. They get beat up too much. That's why RB's like Forte have become a little more valuable since they are good receivers out of the back field and occasionally in the slot.
