Lebron, Durant, Kobe, Westbrook, and Melo would win according to the House of Kobe over Air Jordan, Pippen, Barkley, Malone, Ewing, Magic, Bird, Stockton, Robinson, Laettner, Mullin, and Drexler.

Not buying it..Kobe Bryant is on the last leg of his career right now..they would get dominated at the center position..rebounding would be an issue as well..and Westbrook isn't as good of a distributor as Stockton or even Magic at the end of his career..he would pose some problems with his speed and ability to score the basketball but he is far from a true point guard
Jordan in his prime is still the best ever..actually, most of this team is in their prime except for Bird and Magic..Laettner would probably not see the floor so he doesn't count lol
Would be a fun game to watch but I say the original Dream Team wins

Not a chance. The original "Dream Team" would win for sure. The original team was more balanced, had more post players, and had some great scorers. They learned how to play togeter. Jordan wasn't the leading scorer on that team, he was the the 4th leading scorer in points scored, and 5th on PPG. Barkley led the way in both categories, followed by Malone, & Mullin. Drexler had more PPG, but only played in 5 games, so his total points scored were less than Jordan. They knew how to play together.

2008 would have a better shot with Wade, Rose, Howard, and Bosh. Also, don't forget the Shaq teams, when he was in his prime no one in the World could handle his physicality.

I want the USA to win the gold but it's like putting an NBA team in the NCAA Tournament..none of these international teams appear to be that impressive..I'd like to see the US at least have to work for it a little but I doubt they have a game closer than 15 points..Spain has the Gasol brothers but their guard play is weak..and nobody else has much firepower offensively

The US isn't always a lock. Remember Argentina won in Athens. Men's basketball has been a part of the Olympics since 1936. In 36, 48, 52, 56, 60, 64 and 68, the US won with amateur/college players. In 72 the Soviets won (by 1 point 51-50), and the US got silver, again with college players. In 80, the Soviets won again, but the US did not participate in that Olympics, boycotting the Moscow games. 84 the US won again, 88 the Soviets won, but the US team had David Robinson, Mitch Richmond, and Dan Majerle among other future NBA players. So with college players (most of which were not far removed from joining the NBA) The US was 9-2 (.777 winning %) in Olympics that they competed in.
Then enter the NBA player era. The US is 4-1 (.800 winning percentage), about the same.
Keep in mind, that the college players that were used in the previous Olympics were about the same age as players that have been in the NBA for 2-3 years these days.
That said, Hank Kilander said it best on the show this past week '92 team 172 '12 Team 15

I think if the US only used college athletes it would be more intriguing..definitely more of a challenge..they should let Calipari and his entire Kentucky roster from this past season compete in this year's Olympics..that would be very interesting
Anyone care to speculate how the USA Wildcats would fare against the world?

Pippen said 92 team by 25, Barkley said only 3 of their guys could make our team and we weren't getting beat by no pt guards and who would stop Robinson and Ewing, Mullin flatly said no, Jordan said we have 11 Hall of Famers and they learned from us, not the other way around, and Bird said maybe at our age now they could play with us.

Exactly..two of the best centers ever to play the game and Tyson Chandler is supposed to stop them?? good luck..
I think Pippen would cancel out LeBron and Jordan would lock up a broken down Kobe
Westbrook may be the quickest player on the floor but Stockton and Magic would force him to play defense..plus they are much better distributors than Westbrook
2008 would have much better chance than this team..better front line and more depth than this team

I agree and when Shaq was in his prime no one in the World could deal with the Diesel.

This is a stupid thought for Kobe Bryant, and it is a stupid debate he started. There is not anyway to prove this. It just shows what a dumb player he is.

For being dumb he has a few rings.

He is dumb because he thinks he is better than Michael and Scottie. He could not compete with them.

Revisionist History says Kobe's Lakers handed it to the Blazers when Scottie was in Portland. Kobe is not better than Air Jordan but Pip wasn't so great in Houston now was he.
