Which area provides the best media coverage of high school sports?
Northwest Indiana (Region) South Bend area Fort Wayne Indianapolis Southern Indiana (Evansville/Bloomington areas)
I believe it is right here in the region. Our TV/online video streaming isn't quite up to snuff with the rest of the state but as far as radio, webcasting/print media we have the best anywhere.

True dat. There are radio stations, internet radio stations where I can listen every night almost. High school sports are in the Gary Post and the NWITimes every day. It probably is best here.

I think we do a good job here..but I will say that in some other areas like South Bend, Indy, and Evansville, they usually have a "game of the week" that is aired live on TV..but not to take away from the region..we do a good job of glorifying our athletes and have many different internet and radio options..obviously the best one is MAB

Lakshore Public Television has a very small budget to produce high school games on a regular basis and Comcast focuses on Illinois sports. Companies such as MAB could also do live internet streams but is also very costly.

The newspapers do a very good job here. I especially like Hilary Smith from the Times and Steve Gorch from the Post-Tribune. They do a good job on the girls sports.

I like what we have here, but the Post sucks now. I like the Crown Point Star for high school.

There are a lot of good areas for high school sports coverage. From our experiance, it seems like the nbest areas are Northwest Indiana and Evansville. That's not to say that there is not good coverage or great writers in other parts of the state, just that when there is a team from one of the extreme western corners of the state makes it to the state finals, that the media is over flowing. In other words, there are a TON odf outlets offering coverage and choices for the teams. That gives those athletes a bit more expsoure than in many of the other areas of the state.

That is absolutely true..If a region team does well and makes some noise in the post-season, you can bet that they will certainly have a media following
