Are there any players that you have thought would be great to have on the RailCats? Merrillville's Daryl Evans and Crown Point's Matt Jansen both had a shot in spring training this year, and Hammond's Mike Coles is on the roster now! Are there any players that you think "still have it" and could help the 'Cats other than Evans and Jansen?
A couple of ideas I have are Larry Bigbie (Hobart, former MLB player), Ryan Basham (Lowell, played for three independent clubs), Kerry Wood (hey, why not...he no longer has a big league arm, but this level, why not. I am sure he wouldn't want to, but you never know), Jose Conseco (he has played everywhere else, he would be a draw, why not?)
What are your thoughts?

Railcats next year should look at Mascarello and Bridges from Purdue.

apollo, I think both would be great if they are available. I have heard rumblings that Bridges may be drafted. If he is not, he would be a great fit too!

Mascarello is a Philly. No chance there I assume.

Julio, you are right. Mascarello was signed by the Phiilies, but there are several RailCats players that have had affliated minor league experiance and even some former MLB players that were on the roster. I wish him the best of luck, but you never know what will happen in the future. He may end up as a RailCat at some point.
