The Cubs and Sox seem to be going in opposite directions this season. Hopes were not too high on either side of town, but the Cubs have been in the cellar while the Sox have vaulted to first place. It seems like the fundamental difference between the two clubs has been the Sox having a history of developing talent in the farm system while adding veteran talent, while the Cubs seem to have a longer term plan. What are your thoughts?

It seems like the Cubs have a plan. To their credit, no one in management guarenteed a winning season. The stated goal was to spend money to build the farm system and develop players that way. That said, ticket prices still rise, so much so that fans could not even afford to attend the Cubs-Sox series at Wrigley. I am as suprised as anyone that the Sox are in first. I don't think anyone, even the most rapid Sox fan saw that coming.

The Sox are the team that will get another championship in Chicago. This year is the year. Adam Dunn, the boy can hit!
