Boone Grove is probably the best team in Porter County this year..hopefully, they can build on what they have done this summer and apply it to the season..after watching them and then seeing Hanover about 4 times, I still think Boone is the superior team
I just saw Winamac play on Friday and they look to be pretty decent..probably not quite the team they were last year, but they will be a formidable sectional opponent potentially
Wheeler Football went through a similar situation..run the table in conference but fail to win the sectional..but they finally got over the hump last season..maybe Boone can do the same this year

Hey JT hear anything more on who will be the new coach at Wheeler, are any current coaches in the area being looked at, etc.

I have no idea..not sure how attractive this job is..you would think there would be plenty of coaches throwing their names in the hat, but with this conference not being very strong and now having Andrean in the sectional who knows..but on the flip side, with this whole tradition thing now taking effect, FW Luers has a strong possibility of moving up after this season and that would open up 2A

I would imagine at this point it would be an assistant. Probably someone who is currently on staff.

Of course you are talking football I assume. Dustin Nelson is still the girls hoops coach at Wheeler and Tom Johnson its still the boys coach.

Dustin Nelson has done a fine job with the girls program..they had heavy graduation losses this year and might struggle a bit..saw them against Andrean during the summer and they just didn't have much experience on the floor

The Wheeler girls team is going through a youth movement right now. They lost several key seniors from last year's squad. It may take a while for the chemistry to come together, but they should be a solid team towards the end of the season. And of course that is when we play them so they should be firing on all cylinders by then.

Whiting could be the favorite this year in 2A at there sectional. Bowman lost alot, LS and RF are still in rebuilding mode, Noll is going to be in the middle of the GSSC, and Wheeler lost alot too
