Coach Mac is bringing the Pride back to the Warpath! The others before him didn't understand what it takes to be a true Indian. He is bringing it. I hop jtjrmoney8 was not being sarcastic. He is right, Duneland and sectional titles are on their way. Regional, Semi, and State champs in Portage too!

A lot good coaches to pick from. In my opinion the best is the one who gets their kids to play at the next level somewhere.

I really do hope Portage can get turned around..I just think it's going to take longer than one year..It's been really frustrating watching this program get flushed down the toilet for the past 5 years..I wish Buzea never would have been ran out of town..not only that, but then they hire two coaches who were nowhere near qualified for the job, and they let it sink to mediocrity..and I hate the black helmets with the spears on them..bring back the flying P and start playing smashmouth football again!

jtjrmoney8, I like the old helmets too. I wish they would bring them back like Coach Mac, the best coach around, will bring winning back to P-Town!

You are right JT, since Buzea was run out of town, he went on to win at 2 Basketball schools in Mich City and H-F. And it will take a bit to rebuild at Portage.

I wouldn't call Homewood Flossmoor a basketball school exactly. They had a really good football program before he got there, that was not exactly a rebuilding project. MC, I am with you...he did a tremendous job in his short time there.

I agree with jtjrmoney8, all these last two hires did was bring the tribe .500 football and a seven game losing streak against Valpo, totally unacceptable at Portage. As far has Wall Mac is concerned, I don't care weather Portage goes 0-10 or 14-0 or anything in between he can just go ahead and be the coach at Portage until the day he decides to retire.

Rich H-F is more of a basketball school in the last 15 years or so and there record was not good recently before buzz turned it around, give Principal Ryan Pitcock credit for bringing him in and knowing real coaching talent.

I don't know about that. Homewood-Flossmoor won a 6A championship in football in the mid 90's...yes, that's over 15 years ago, but still they were solid, winning team before Buz got there, he just made them better. In boys basketball they had a state runner up appearance more recently, but I think that the two were pretty equal. Buz did make a huge impact.
